What is Homesnoop?
Homesnoop is an online property report platform for home buyers and real estate industry professionals. Our reports contain up to 50 pages of information specific to the property, including market insights, town planning classifications, easements, heritage and character protections, environmental considerations, utilies locations, and lifestyle factors.

When buying a property there are many factors that should be considered. Location, property condition, market conditions, future area developments, size and layout, potential for appreciation – the list goes on. A Homesnoop online property report makes it easy to understand what potential considerations exist with regard to town planning, development and environmental factors. Our reports help you understand key environmental risks, such as flooding, landslide, coastal erosion and bushfire, and development restrictions arising from zoning, character protections, easements, buried services and much more.
What information do I get in a Homesnoop property report?
The contents of our property reports varies depending on the location. A Homesnoop property report typically contains information such as:
– Planning and development considerations such as the zone and local plan, easements, character protections and heritage protections.
– Environmental considerations, such as bushfire, landslide, coastal erosion and flooding information. We also include maps of historic floods, indicating whether or not the property was affected by these floods. There is also aerial imagery from the 2011 Brisbane floods for most affected properties.
– Utilities information such as electricity, water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure locations around the property.
– Noise considerations, including traffic noise from main roads and noise from nearby railways.
– Locations of parks, cycle paths, tracks and trails, dog parks and other liveability points of interest.

What areas are covered?
Homesnoop provides online property reports Australia-wide, except Northern Territory. Data coverage does vary by area, meaning some reports have more data than others. Every address in these areas should be available in our database, including houses, units and commercial properties.
Is it only useful for houses, or units and apartments as well?
A Homesnoop online property report contains information that is useful to people searching for any type of property, including houses, units, apartments, commercial property and empty land. For example, environmental considerations such as flooding, bushfire, landslides and coastal erosion are important factors for any property purchase. Also, our reports provide information for the area surrounding the property, not just the property itself. This can help you understand the type of surrounding development that may occur in the future, which can affect your enjoyment of the property.
Where does the property report data come from?
We gather data from over 30 different sources, including federal, state and local government organisations, utilities companies and other resources. All these sources are checked for quality and reliability. We regularly update the datasets, to ensure the property reports have up-to-date information.
How do I purchase a report?
Homesnoop is an online property report platform available on laptops, phones and tablets. To purchase a report, simply log in to our platform here. You can choose between purchasing a single report, or signing up to a monthly plan (which can be cancelled at any time). Reports take about 5 minutes to generate and will be delivered via email and also accessible from our online platform.
Can I change or cancel my plan after my purchase?
Once you’ve secured your property, you’ll likely no longer need us. As such, all our plans are able to be cancelled at any time. You’ll be able to use any remaining report credits until the end of the plan month. You’ll also continue to have access to our platform even after your plan ends, so you won’t lose access to your existing reports.
Do you offer refunds?
We offer refunds in certain circumstances such as incomplete or incorrect information, in accordance with our Refunds Policy. If you are not happy with anything to do with your purchase, please always reach out via hello@homesnoop.com.au. We’re here to help you on your property journey, and if there is something we aren’t doing right, please let us know!

Homesnoop does not offer professional town planning services or advice. We recommend you consult a qualified town planner for information regarding a specific property.
